Muqing (Ada) Jia
Media Designer at the Embodied Media Project, Keio University Graduate School of Media Design. I explore the possibilities of interaction through technology, immersive environments, and human-centered experiences.
About
I studied Intermedia Art at the China Academy of Art, where I explored 3D experiences, sound, audiovisual art, and virtual environments.
After graduation, I joined VAST, where I worked on Tripo AI and co-created Tripo Doodle. Now at KMD, I'm exploring how design can bring art and technology together to create meaningful interactive experiences. I'm especially interested in XR, human perception, and interactive projects that combine hardware and software.

Adaptive Design for Aging
Most furniture is built around standard sizes, while older adults' bodies and support needs vary widely. This concept uses AI agents and 3D printing to generate furniture fitted to one person, their measurements and their room, previewed in AR at real scale before fabrication.
Pressure Cocoon
How might a breathing-responsive environment support emotional regulation through bodily interaction?
Deep pressure can reduce anxiety and support sensory regulation, but weighted blankets and squeeze machines are passive and can feel restrictive. Pressure Cocoon is a soft, semi-open inflatable space that follows the user's breathing, so the user stays in control of the pressure they receive.
